Depicting storks stood at the water’s edge and small birds perched on nearby branches, this design, which was originally a wallpaper, is believed to date between 1825 and 1850. Discovered hidden behind oak panelling at Temple Newsham in 1894, this version’s pictorial scene is framed by bamboo lattice work which amplifies the height of the design. Printed on fine cotton/linen twill. Pair with the Storks & Thrushes wallpaper panel.
